Bria, our Little Miner

Kid Diggins Mining Co. started at our kitchen table, buried under a pile of rocks.

I’m Matt, a mining engineer. My daughter Bria is the reason any of this exists, she’s the little miner you see on our logo.

It started the way most of Bria’s obsessions do: all at once. She came home from school trading quartz with her friends at recess, and pretty soon our kitchen table was covered in rocks, each one with a story she wanted to know. What is it? Where did it come from? Is it rare?

I’ve spent my whole career underground. I graduated from Virginia Tech in mining engineering and have spent years thousands of feet below the surface, designing the systems that keep real mines running. So when my kid started asking about rocks, I finally had a use for all of it.

We realized the fun wasn’t just having the rocks. It was the hunt, the surprise of not knowing what you’d get, and the thrill of figuring out what you’d found. So we built a way to share that: real gemstones, in a capsule, with the science behind every single one.

Kid Diggins is a dad and his daughter turning a pile of kitchen-table rocks into a treasure hunt for kids everywhere. Every gem is real. Every one has a story. Go dig one up.
